The story
Goloknath Das, also called Goloknath Prabhu, leads Hare Krishna kirtan at ISKCON temples and kirtan melas across India. Temples invite him to lead the main sessions of their festivals, from Mumbai and Pandharpur in Maharashtra to Siliguri, Mayapur and Amritsar.
He was already leading festival kirtans in 2019. That year he sang on the first day of Kirtan Fest at ISKCON Chowpatty in Mumbai, a recording watched more than 90,000 times. In July he led kirtan at the Pandharpur Kirtan Mela.
ISKCON Siliguri has made him part of its Kirtan Mela three years in a row. In 2024 he sang the Adhivas kirtan that opens the festival. He returned for the first day in 2025, and in 2026 he again led the Adhivas ceremony, followed by Sundar Lala Sachi Dulala on day one. The temple describes his singing carried by mridanga and harmonium, with devotees singing back, clapping and dancing.
In 2025 he sang at the Mayapur Kirtan Mela, and in 2026 at the Amrit Naam Kirtan Mela at ISKCON Amritsar. MayapurTV Music, the label of ISKCON Mayapur, releases his kirtans. He now has 25 releases on Spotify, the newest Kirtan for New Generation in March 2026.
On his own YouTube channel he shares more than kirtan. He sings Bengali Vaishnava songs such as Vrindavan Vilasini Rai Amader. He also gives short talks in Hindi, Kirtan Ke Basics and Nama Sankirtan Ki Mahima, on how kirtan works and why it matters. In July 2025 he led the kirtans for his guru's Vyasa-puja.
What a kirtan with Goloknath Das is like
A kirtan with Goloknath Das is joyful and loud in the best way. He sits at the harmonium with a mridanga player beside him and sings the maha-mantra line by line, and the room answers. As the kirtan builds he raises his arms, and soon the hall does the same. At ISKCON Amritsar, women, men and small children sat close around him, singing with their arms in the air. He smiles through much of it. Expect the Hare Krishna maha-mantra and Bengali songs like Sundar Lala Sachi Dulala, with clapping and dancing.
