The story
Srihari Kanta Prabhu is a Hare Krishna kirtan leader from the ISKCON tradition. His name is written Srihari Kanta, Sri Hari Kanta and Hari Kanta Prabhu on different videos. He leads kirtan at ISKCON temples, and his recordings go back to Mayapur, ISKCON's international headquarters in West Bengal.
His earliest recordings are from ISKCON Mayapur. A Radhastami Kirtan from 2015, led by Sri Hari Kanta Prabhu in Mayapur, lasts about 46 minutes and has been viewed more than 26,000 times. The Hare Krsna TV upload says it was posted with permission from the original filmmaker. In May 2016 the ISKCON Desire Tree audio archive listed a Narahari Nama Kirtan led by him at ISKCON Mayapur.
In 2024 he was one of the kirtan leaders at the Kirtan Mela at ISKCON Siliguri. ISKCON TV Siliguri posted his Day 2 kirtan, of about 29 minutes, in April 2024 and his Day 3 kirtan, of nearly 42 minutes, in May 2024. The temple describes itself as a centre for kirtan, yoga and learning of Vedic texts such as the Bhagavad Gita.
The videos show a temple-style kirtan: a lead singer with mridanga players and a hall of devotees who sing the response. Every recording found is Hare Krishna kirtan, the call-and-response chanting of the maha-mantra. These are long, unhurried sessions, built for festivals and temple programmes rather than short concerts.
No biography, interview or personal website was found for him, so where he lives, who initiated him, how long he has led kirtan and whether he leads home kirtans are not yet known.

In his Mayapur Radhastami video he sings into a microphone with a crowd of young devotees close behind him, and in Siliguri the mridanga players and the crowd answer him.
