Bhajans and kirtan to bless a new home, planned around the puja and its muhurat.
As soon as the date is fixed
Get the puja muhurat from your pandit
Plan the kirtan before or after the puja, not over it.
Book the artist and share the muhurat and address with them
Agree the duration, number of musicians and the offering in writing
The week before
Invite family and neighbours with the kirtan time, not just the puja time
Pick the room for the kirtan: the new home may not have furniture yet, so plan seating
Arrange durries or white sheets and a few chairs for elders
Check the power supply works in that room; keep an extension board ready
On the day
Set the kirtan near the puja space, with flowers and a lamp
Keep warm water for the singers
Keep prasad ready to serve after the aarti
After
Thank the artists and settle their offering
